Bastain Schweinsteiger exchanges marital vows with tennis superstar, Ana Ivanovic




The Manchester United midfielder tied the knot with the tennis star at the Venice City Hall.
Ana looked glamorous in her white dress while Bastian looked smart and sophisticated in a dark blue suit.
The couple have been together since 2014.
They reportedly didn't tell guests about the ceremony - they apparently told friends and family to come to the airport expecting a surprise!

Athletics: Oscar Pistorius sentenced to Six years in prison

South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius, has been sentenced to Six years in prison for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in 2013.
This verdict comes after he was already sentenced on a Five year conviction for manslaughter, which was reverted to murder last December on appeal.
Oscar shot Reeva Steenkamp four times through a toilet door on the 14th of February, 2013.
Though, He admitted shooting her, but said he mistook her for an intruder and acted out of fear.
This Six year jail term hasn't gone down well as most celebrities like Piers Morgan have aired their views, and this is what he had to say: "If #Pistorius was black & non-famous, he'd have got life imprisonment. Saved by celebrity status".

Sepp Blatter- Draws for Euro competitions rigged using hot and cold balls

Ex FIFA President, Sepp Blatter said, in his 18 year reign as FIFA president, no FIFA competition was fixed even when he had the power to do so. But from what he witnessed at the Uefa level, there was a great deal of rigging, in that, some balls were put in freezers, so when touched you can easily determine the hot or cold ones.

He died just 3 days after ex coach Stephen Keshi gave up the ghost, so sad.
News reaching us says that he complain of having chest pains on Friday and died in his sleep

Rio Olympics to go on despite Zika virus concerns-WHO

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has dismissed reports that the Rio Olympics should be moved to a later date or called off due to growing concerns of zika virus.
Last week, 150 public health experts penned a letter to the organisation warning that the risk of infection from the virus – which has links to birth defects and brain abnormalities in babies – was too great for the event to be held safely.
Despite the letter’s claims that allowing the Games to proceed would “pose an unnecessary risk to 500,000 foreign tourists”, the WHO said hosting the event in the Brazilian city as scheduled would “not significantly alter the international spread of the Zika virus”

Kenya threatens to pull out of Rio Olympic games due to Zika Virus concern


Kenya could pull out of this year's Rio Olympics due to concerns over the Zika virus outbreak in Brazil, the head of Kenya's Olympics committee said on Tuesday.
Kenya boasts some of the best middle and long-distance runners in the world and the East African nation topped the medals table at the 2015 World athletics championships.
"Obviously, we are not going to risk taking Kenyans there if this Zika Virus reaches epidemic levels," Kipchoge Keino told Reuters.
Meanwhile the United States Olympic Committee told U.S. sports federations that athletes and staff concerned for their health over the Zika virus should consider not going to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in August.

Kanu listed among world legends


Nwankwo Kanu has been named among the top 48 legends of football worldwide by the IFFHS (The International Federation of Football History and Statistics).

The first set of names on the list includes Brazilian greats Pele and Ronaldo da Lima. Other Africans on the list include former World player of the year  George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe.
